Riaci Beach: everything you need to know
Calabria is a fascinating region of southern Italy surrounded by two beautiful seas, the Ionian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, making it one of the most beautiful seaside destinations on the peninsula. The region boasts an extraordinary natural heritage, whose beauty is best represented by its enchanting coasts with their crystal-clear water.
Riaci Bay and Beach
The Riaci Bay and beach is one the most precious gems of the Tyrrhenian coast. The bay is located near Tropea, one of the most popular seaside destinations in the region. The bay and its beach are renowned for their heavenly feel: golden beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a breathtaking natural scenery. The beach offers a peaceful and serene environment, but is also ideal for adventurers who love diving, snorkelling or visiting its sea caves.
The climate in the Riaci areas
As with our entire peninsula, the weather varies greatly from season to season. It all depends on the type of holiday you are looking for.
Summer stay
Since this is typically a tourist and seaside destination, the summer months from June to September are the most crowded. Temperatures range from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, which is the perfect climate for those seeking to fully enjoy the enchanting beaches of Riaci as well as some relaxation in one of the beautiful seaside resorts of Calabria.
Autumn or Spring stay
In spring and autumn, the weather in the Bay of Riaci makes it less crowded and perfect for those who want to explore the area avoiding the summer crowds. Temperatures remain quite mild, fluctuating between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius and allowing you to still fully enjoy a wonderful experience on the beach of Riaci.
Winter stay
In the months between November and April, temperatures range from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. Therefore, they not really suitable for the typical beach experience. However, the area retains all its charm, offering many hiking and cultural opportunities.
